Hi, my name is Cree Alexis, but I liked to be called “CeCe”. I have had Vitiligo since I was four years old. I really don’t remember a time without it. I used to get really upset with people who make ugly faces when they see my knees and asked have I been burned.

Also, I did not like going through the explanation of what Vitiligo was because they never seemed to understand. After much practice, I am really pretty good at it.

I love to do everything else other kids do and my Mom always tells me that the wrapping on a gift is not important and will be thrown away. It is the gift inside that will be kept...so I remember that my skin is my wrapping and what is inside of me is the most important.

I am very good at track and plan to go to the Olympics one day and let the world see my white knees as I cross the finish line :). Also, my cousin Kayla encourages me all that time to do what I love to do. I am also a very good piano player.

I tell my Mom all the time that if my white spots go away I still want to go to the AVRF conferences, because I just love being around all the other children that look like me. I just love Ms. Stella and all of my AVRF friends.
