Blaine

My name is Blaine. I am 8 years old and in the 2nd grade. I play guitar and baseball. I also joined Boy Scouts this year with my brother, Evan. I have Vitiligo all over my body (on my elbows, chin, forehead, stomach, behind my knees, etc.). When my hair is shorter you can see it on my forehead, so now I have longer hair and it is hardly noticeable. And if my knees bother me, I just wear long pants. But I don't really worry too much about that kind of stuff.  

At the beginning of the school year my mom came to school to tell my friends what those white spots were. And now no one really notices them. But we don't make them a big deal anyway. I actually like my white spots; they make me special. My favorite thing to do is play games, and all the activities I've joined. At Boy Scouts I'm really excited because we are going to make pinewood derby cars. 

So I don't really worry about my white spots too much. And you shouldn't be sad, because I am happy about mine. And if you have them, remember that they make you special, too. Whenever we see anyone with white spots we always try to talk to them and make friends. It is nice to make new friends.
