Hi, my name is Gabby. I first knew I had white spots after I had an accident with my scooter. I scraped up my leg pretty badly and when it healed it was white. Sometimes people ask me “ What’s wrong with your skin?” I usually say it’s not a big deal because I really don’t care about what other people think about my skin.

When I got white spots on my face, I thought people would laugh at me. Now’s it’s been a few years since I knew I had white spots. My face and my arms and legs are mostly white. Since I have had white spots it has shown a lot of people (mostly my friends) that just because I have vitiligo it doesn’t mean that I can’t do the same things other kids can do.

I have a sister named Christina who loves me a lot and really looks up to me. I also have two very supportive parents who love me very much. I have five pets, three cats and two dogs. Softball is my favorite sport and I’m pretty good at it. I’m very good at hitting the ball. I also like to play basketball and swim, and I love running. After more than five years work I just got my black belt in Tae Kwon Do this spring. I also enjoy music and play the clarinet in the school band. See, I can do anything anyone else can do.
